1) Packing the right clothes

Depending on your destination, the climate, and what activities you have planned, you'll need to pack accordingly. Be sure to check the weather forecast in advance so that you can pack appropriately. If you're traveling somewhere with a lot of different activities planned, it's always better to err on the side of packing too much rather than too little.

  • A few basics that everyone should pack no matter where they're going include:

  • Undergarments

  • Socks

  • Shirts/tops

  • Pants/bottoms

  • A jacket or coat (if necessary)

  • Shoes/footwear

Of course, you'll also want to pack any toiletries or beauty products you may need, as well as any medications you take on a regular basis. It's always better to be safe than sorry, so pack more than you think you'll need, and you can always use it as an opportunity to do some light packing for the trip back home!

If you're traveling with children, be sure to pack enough clothes for them as well. It's always better to have too many clothes than not enough, especially for young kids who seem to have a knack for getting dirty no matter what!

2) Chargers for electronics

This is one of the most important things you can pack, yet it's also one of the most commonly forgotten items. Be sure to pack all of the chargers you'll need for your electronic devices, including your phone, laptop, camera, and any other devices you may be bringing along. It's also a good idea to bring along a portable charger in case you find yourself somewhere with limited outlet access.

A converter or adapter may also be necessary if you're traveling to a country with a different type of electrical outlet than what you're used to. Suppose you plan on using your electronic devices a lot while on vacation. In that case, it's also a good idea to pack extra batteries or power cords. Again, it's better to be safe than sorry, so pack more chargers and adapters than you think you'll need. You can always leave them behind if you don't end up using them all!

3) Comfortable shoes

This is a travel essential that is often overlooked, but it's so important! You'll be doing a lot of walking while on vacation, whether you're exploring the city or hiking through the mountains. Be sure to pack a pair of comfortable shoes that you can walk in for long periods of time. If you're not used to walking long distances, it's also a good idea to break in your shoes before your trip so that you don't end up with blisters.

No matter where you're going or what you're doing, comfortable shoes are a must-have. Your feet will thank you at the end of each day! Also, don't forget to pack a pair of flip-flops or sandals for the beach or pool. They don't take up much space and can be a lifesaver when you need to give your feet a break from walking.

4) Bathrobe and slippers

If you're staying in a hotel, chances are there will be a bathrobe and slippers waiting for you in your room. But if you're not sure or if you're traveling on a budget and staying in a hostel or Airbnb, it's always a good idea to pack your own.

A bathrobe from Richard Haworth is great for lounging around the hotel room or taking a quick trip to the pool. And slippers can be lifesavers when you need to walk across cold floors in the morning. Even if you don't end up using them, it's always nice to have them with you just in case!

5) Snacks and drinks

The last thing you want is to be hungry or thirsty while you're traveling. So be sure to pack snacks and drinks that will tide you over until you can find a proper meal. Salty snacks like chips or pretzels are great for hunger pangs, while something sugary like candy or fruit can give you a much-needed energy boost. And of course, don't forget to pack plenty of water!

When it comes to packing your carry-on essentials, there are a few things that are absolutely essential in order to ensure a comfortable stay. From snacks and drinks to medication and entertainment, these items will make your travels much more enjoyable. So next time you're getting ready for a trip, be sure to pack these travel essentials!
